- Reconcile the balance
- Material/reference ___; artwork revision ___; location/custodian ___; counted quantity/date ___; receipts and issues ___; adjustments requiring explanation ___; unit ___. Separate the material’s physical balance from an accounting amount. An old purchase invoice cannot establish how much usable stock remains after production and scrap.
- Define the age view
- Received date/source ___; last movement date/source ___; last approved use ___; review date ___; date gaps ___. State which date the review uses and why. Do not assign an arbitrary age category to missing records or treat the oldest transaction as the age of every unit when receipts were mixed.
- Inspect current usability
- Condition observation ___; material specification ___; printed copy/identifier revision ___; matched current SKU ___; required recheck ___; approval owner ___. Separate physical damage from obsolete wording and unsupported applicability. Material can be physically sound while unsuitable for a changed product, or current in design while damaged in storage.
- Review actual use prospects
- Confirmed order reference ___; accepted forecast source if used ___; approved SKU consumption basis ___; expected use proposal ___; uncertain demand ___. Keep confirmed demand distinct from a planning assumption. An unused branded box should not be assigned to a hoped-for order just to make the stock appear active.
- Decide and follow up
- Hold with review trigger, reuse, rework, transfer or disposition proposal ___; feasibility evidence ___; permissions/rights reference ___; cost quote if relevant ___; authorized owner ___; next check ___. Record an option as proposed until its material suitability, commercial scope and required authority are resolved.
