- Identify the promise
- SKU ___; specification revision ___; pack wording ___; quoted unit ___; sheets or pulls declared ___; plies declared ___; packs per carton ___. Copy the exact quantity language before opening anything. Ask the supplier to explain ambiguous use of sheets and pulls; do not silently select the interpretation that makes an offer look cheaper.
- Identify the sample
- Pack reference ___; lot or other identifying mark ___; received condition ___; sample-selection explanation ___; count date/operator ___. Photograph quantity wording and seals before the pack is opened. Record whether the specimen was supplied as a reference or selected from actual stock so the observation scope remains visible.
- Separate counting observations
- Finished sheets counted ___; dispensing actions recorded if relevant ___; loose or joined pieces ___; torn pieces requiring review ___; ply construction observed separately ___. Use an agreed handling sequence that avoids recounting or losing removed sheets. If a pull releases multiple sheets, retain that observation without turning the pull count into a sheet count.
- Reconcile each pack
- Declared quantity ___; recorded quantity ___; apparent difference ___; recount method/operator ___; ambiguous pieces and treatment ___. Preserve initial and second readings rather than replacing the first result. Agree how to classify fragments or joined pieces before drawing a conclusion from them; the chosen rule should not change merely to close a discrepancy.
- Extend to commercial units
- Packs inspected ___; complete packs per examined carton ___; observed carton contents ___; expected contents from order ___. Keep pack and case findings separate. A correct sheet count in one pack does not establish that every carton contains the approved number of packs or that all unexamined packs match.
