Hypothetical comparison: remove a confounding variable
This example describes how to structure an evaluation, not which material performs better.
- First samples
- A buyer receives a three-ply bamboo sample and a two-ply recycled sample in different sheet sizes. The buyer prefers one, but the comparison changed material, construction and dimensions simultaneously.
- Better next question
- Ask for the closest feasible matched constructions, or explicitly record the remaining differences. Evaluate fit for the intended use and compare price on aligned quantity bases. Do not report the first preference as proof that all bamboo tissue is softer.
- Missing evidence
- If the declared fiber composition or recycled content cannot be matched to the sample, keep the identity decision pending. A satisfactory handling trial does not independently verify the material claim.

Bamboo supply claims deserve a document trail
FSC announced a verification initiative focused on bamboo household and sanitary paper supply chains in July 2026. The practical procurement response is to verify the relevant holder, scope and transaction evidence. That announcement does not establish a problem with a particular VELUPLY supplier or validate any selected product.
Unbleached is not a complete material description
An appearance or processing term does not supply a verified fiber composition. Ask what the supplier means, which production information supports it and what exact wording is proposed for the pack. Avoid inferring a chemical-free claim from a natural-looking color.
Compare environmental claims one at a time
Recycled content, chain-of-custody certification, pack material and broader environmental impact answer different questions. Evidence for one does not automatically establish the others. For a bamboo tissue supplier, use the same disciplined evidence review you would apply to wood-pulp or recycled tissue.
Keep the chosen material tied to repeat orders
Retain the approved specification and evidence references. A change of pulp blend, production route or packaging needs a new applicability check for any affected claim. Preserve prior versions so a repeat shipment can be compared with what was actually approved.

04Is bamboo tissue always better than recycled tissue?+

05Does an FSC logo prove 100% bamboo fiber?+
Do not use a logo alone as fiber-composition evidence. Check the applicable certificate information, product claim and linked supply documentation. Keep the claimed fiber composition as a separately supported field.
